Katherine Wilson joins UW Biostatistics faculty

As the calendar rolls over to a new academic year, the University of Washington Department of Biostatistics is excited to welcome Katherine Wilson (PhD ’19) as an Assistant Teaching Professor.

Wilson is a biostatistician with research interests in spatial statistics and missing data methods. Her recent work has focused on modeling under five mortality using data sources with limited information.

After earning her doctorate, Wilson worked as a research scientist for the Local Burden of Disease Project at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation before moving to the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center at VA Puget Sound . There she collaborated with investigators on studies involving aging-related disorders, work she will continue while at UW.

During the 2021-22 academic year, Wilson served as an instructor for several UW biostatistics courses and volunteered for the inaugural UW MS Biostatistics Capstone Mentor Program.
