I'm a second-year PhD student at UW. In addition to classes, I work as a research assistant with Dr. Jon Wakefield, the Space Time Analysis Bayes (STAB) lab, and the Gates Foundation. My current projects include developing an interaction-based random effects model that smooths over age bands and areas to develop under-5 mortality rate (U5MR) estimates. My work focuses on using complex survey data to produce estimates that are reliable and interpretable at a subnational level. 

Before starting my PhD, I was a research fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, where I used latent class longitudinal models to study associations between puberty and cancer. 

Broadly, I'm interested in the development of Bayesian models in a correlated data context. I'm passionate about making my work accessible, specifically to those that the data is collected on.
