I am a 3rd year PhD student in the Department of Biostatistics. I am advised by Dr. Marco Carone and develop statistical methodology motivated by challenges that arise in infectious disease and vaccine research. My PhD is supported by a research assistantship with Dr. Helen Chu (UW Medicine and Allergy and Infectious Diseases).
My statistical research interests are primarily in non-parametric methodology for causal inference, especially time-varying or continuous exposures and time-to-event outcomes. I am also interested in study design, best practices for reproducible research, and improving biomedical research through modern statistical and epidemiological education.
Prior to beginning the PhD program at UW, I received a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Detroit Mercy and an MS in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan. I then worked as a research biostatistician for five years: first in the Division of Biostatistics at Weill Cornell Medicine, and then at the Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.
