Andrea Rotnitzky, professor of biostatistics at the University of Washington School of Public Health, has been named Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). She received the award for groundbreaking contributions to semiparametric theory for causal inference and missing data analysis, the development of doubly robust estimation, and the integration of semiparametric efficiency theory with causal graphical models.
For 90 years, the title of IMS Fellow has represented a prestigious honor. Fellows exhibit exceptional mastery in statistical or probabilistic research and/or demonstrate remarkable leadership that has left a lasting impact on the field. Established in 1935, the IMS fosters the development and dissemination of the theory and applications of statistics and probability. Approximately 10% of the current IMS membership has earned fellowship status.
