UW Biostatistics Mentor Program

Twenty-two mentors have signed up to participate in the inaugural Professional Mentor Program developed for Master of Biostatistics Capstone students. The mentor program supplements a student’s real-world capstone project by exposing them to professionals outside academia.

Current mentors span the career spectrum with representatives from healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, non-profit research centers, and government agencies. It includes mentors who graduated 20 years ago as well as mentors in the first few years of their career. Most are UW alumni but several are people who work in a statistical field and simply want to help students.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in becoming a mentor, please contact capstone graduate program advisor Minh Vo, minhtvo@uw.edu, and check out the program guidelines to learn more.

Need help with a project? The MS Capstone program is looking for industry/research partners to provide real-time, real-world, projects for students. To date, capstone students have worked with organizations such as the Washington Department of Health, Seattle King County Public Health, UW Medicine, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Harborview Medical Center. Contact Minh Vo for more information.
