Since 1916, GENETICS has published high-quality, original research presenting novel findings bearing on genetics and genomics. The journal publishes empirical studies of organisms ranging from microbes to humans, as well as theoretical work.

"Over the years GENETICS has published many ground-breaking statistical genetics papers, papers that I find myself referring to and citing over and over. It's an honor to serve as an editor for this journal," said Browning.

Browning’s research focuses on developing stochastic models for correlations between genetic variants along chromosomes, and on computationally-efficient statistical methods utilizing these models. She recently co-authored an article, which examined population-specific recombination maps from segments of identity by descent.
