UW Biostatistics faculty among 2020 highly cited researchers

Two core faculty members from the University of Washington Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health have been recognized as highly cited researchers in 2020 by Clarivate.

Biostatistics members appearing on the list include:

  • Daniela Witten, Dorothy Gilford Endowed Chair of Mathematical Statistics, Professor of Biostatistics and Statistics
  • Peter Gilbert, Research Professor of Biostatistics

Daniela Witten and Peter Gilbert named highly cited researchers in 2020 by Clarivate.

Witten and Gilbert earned honors in the Cross-Field category that identifies researchers with substantial influence across several fields.

This highly anticipated annual list identified 6,167 researchers from more than 60 countries and regions, who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index.
