Biostatistics Search—ROC

The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington wishes to fill one or more full-time (100% FTE) faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level. Applicants with research interests in the area of statistical methodology for clinical trials, categorical data, missing data, or experience in collaborating on multicenter studies are especially urged to apply. A major portion of the faculty member's salary support will be to provide statistical expertise and leadership in the design, monitoring, and analysis of multiple multicenter clinical trials conducted in the pre-hospital emergency setting through the Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC), as well as collaborating on studies using registry data collected through the ROC.

Ph.D. required in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field. Duties include methodological research, biomedical research collaboration, and teaching. Appointments can be made in either the regular track or research track according to the qualifications of the applicant. Appointments in the regular track will involve classroom teaching, and there is the possibility of a 50% tenure-track or tenured appointment for a suitable candidate. StatGen Search

The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington wishes to fill one or more full-time (100% FTE) faculty positions in the regular or research track at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in statistical genetics/proteomics. The appointees will be able to interact with an unusually strong group of faculty and students in statistical genomics, proteomics, and the interdisciplinary Public Health Genetics Program, all of which involve faculty members from several departments and schools at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. A joint appointment with Genome Sciences is a possibility for suitable candidates. Tenure-track positions include 50% tenure combined with 50% funding secured through the participation in and direction of research. Biostatistics and Health Services Searth

The Departments of Biostatistics and Health Services at the University of Washington wish to fill one or more full-time (100% FTE) faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The primary appointment will be in either Biostatistics or Health Services, with a joint or adjunct appointment in the non-primary department. Applicants interested in the application of biostatistical methods to health services, health policy, or population health research are encouraged to apply. Faculty responsibilities include methodological research, applied research collaboration, and teaching.

A major portion of the faculty member's responsibilities will be to provide statistical expertise and leadership in Health Services research projects. Such projects may involve the design and analysis of studies of the cost and quality of health care, the evaluation of health promotion programs, clinical trials, surveys, or the use of large secondary data sets. The analysis of “real world” phenomena using observational data is central to the needs of the Department of Health Services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Appropriate candidates will be interested in advising graduate students and in teaching one or more courses per year in Health Services and/or Biostatistics. A PhD is required in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field. Experience or interest in a social science area or in public health is a plus.
