    BIOST 511: Medical Biometry I: PRE-TEST INFORMATION

Biostatistics 511 is a service course for non-Biostat majors, and the first course in the Medical Biometry sequence (followed by Biost 512 in Winter and 513 in Spring).  It is an open-enrollment course; however, prospective students should be able to pass a basic college-level algebra pre-test before enrolling.

Our standard 511 pre-test may be found here as a pdf.  This is a self-assessed test.

Give yourself 50 minutes to complete the test. Check your answers by  using this test key (pdf)

Using a scale from 0 (zero) to 100 [where zero means poor and 100 means excellent], how well did you do in the pre-test?
If your score is less than 60, you should brush-up. Here is a list with some references for math textbooks.

    BIOST 511-12-13 and BIOST 517-18:

The difference between these two service course sequences is described in this pdf memorandum.
